Chapter Ninety-Six: Birthday Blessings

Image
Time was quickly passing, which meant I had to leave my family and friends to return back to school for another semester. Before I left, however, there was something important to celebrate: my birthday! A couple of days before my birthday party, Mom and I decided to have a little, quiet date of our own. It wasn't anything too fancy...we just twirled some pasta over at the local Olive Garden. Yum! I was even offered a sample of wine, but, alas, I am not 21 just yet. Regardless, we enjoyed our evening together. :) A couple days later, the family celebrated my birthday at....Red Lobster! You see, I get a 25% discount when I eat there on my own time...so why not? My coworkers are great, so seeing them outside of work is only a little weird. We dined on seafood, and multiple desserts. It was so much fun! I have quite a few things to catch you up on, don't I? Every Christmas, my small family would gather in my parents' house mid-morning. Mom would make her delicious egg omelet, and then, after we were satisfied, we would watch the kids open their gifts. This was a tradition that went on for as long as I can remember. Robley and Evelyn Dad helping Evelyn with her new toy! Mommy helping Robley with some new toys! For Christmas, I was given three new princess movies. Yay!! I now have S

My biggest challenge at the start of every year is writing the correct date...lucky for us, 5 can easily be converted to a jagged 6. At the start of the year, it's common for people to make resolutions, or goals, to achieve in the next year. I've never really done this, not because I think I'm a perfect human being, but because I usually never think of a couple of goals in time for the new year. There's always talk of the "New Year; New Me" buzz, but most of us can see through this fairly quickly. Not to rat on anyone who is making an effort to change themselves, but it is not common to find someone who has actually stuck with their New Years Resolution. But, despite all this, I think I've decided to make some resolutions. I'm basing my resolutions on a quote I stumbled upon on Facebook, or Twitter (some mindless social media platform) by Mark Twain. Keep in mind, this is from t
