Chapter Forty-Two: Crash

Once again, I am happy to say I am enjoying my time here at college.
On Wednesday, I had a couple of adventures.
I was told last week that I need a lab manual for Chem Lab (Thanks for letting me know last minute...), so, after finding out the book store on campus was fresh out, Mary and I walked across the street to Varsity Bookstore...a cheaper alternative. (Highly recommend this place for anyone going to Tech! Cheap, cheap bookstore run by very nice people). I grabbed my book, and Mary noted there was an Anime store right next door. Well, we had nothing to do, so why not check it out?

That is an uncomfortable smile, if you can't tell.

We were both extremely uncomfortable in the store. The only cool parts were the cute stuffed Pokemon and friendly dog sitting in the window sill.
Later that day, Mary and I decided to drop by the local Catholic Church Group, Women of Faith. When we went to Mass together a couple of Sundays ago, there were a ton of Catholic organizations passing out information, and one of these was Women of Faith, the women's group within St. Elizabeth's. We were both interested, so we decided to check it out.
The Catholic Student Center entrance was a little hard to find, but we were quickly welcomed by smiling faces and cookies. We made journals, which we were told we will be using throughout the year, and were informed all about what the group has planned for the year. I was excited before, but now I'm really excited! I think this is a great opportunity to us to make friends and further embrace our Catholic faith.

My journal on the left, Mary's on the right. Can you tell who the artist is?

After that, we reunited with Bailey and a girl actually from my town, Meagan, and decided to all go out and have dinner together. We first went to Noodles and Company (none of us had ever had it, so we wanted to try it), but it closed early. Keep in mind, this is around 8:30 at night, so this is kind of an unusual time for dinner.
We then went down the street and stopped at One Guy from Italy, a family-friendly Italian restaurant. It was such a fun girls' night! I really hope we can do this more often!

Excellent food...Definitely going back sometime!

We all returned back to the dorm. Meagan went back to her dorm (she doesn't live in the same complex), Bailey retreated to her desk to do some late night studying, and Mary and I watched a movie (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, awesome movie) before going to bed. Wednesday was so much fun!

Thursday, I suppose, was a crash from all the fun and excitement I had from the day before.
The day before a lab, we are required to do a pre-lab online. The questions, however, reference to our lab manual. Well, I had a problem.
The question in blackboard did not match my book.
At all.
I asked my lab partner if she had done it, but she hasn't had the opportunity to even get the book yet. I wanted to email my professor/TA for an S.O.S., but the pre-lab is timed to one hour, and if I have learned anything in school (both high school and university), it's that teachers/professors are not always checking their email, and usually respond a good 5 hours or more later. This is totally understandable, because I do the same exact thing, so I knew that emailing my professor/TA RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT would not do me any good. I submitted the pre-lab, got a nice 60 (Boo!), and then emailed my TA about the issue. Hopefully I can get this taken care of today, since I have lab today!
I also am required to have my own lab coat and goggles for lab, so I got those yesterday.

Looking real science-like, there.

Anyway, nothing truly terrible happened yesterday, but I think all the homework and lack of sleep and confusion with my lab manual really bogged me down. I am definitely looking forward to a weekend full of sleep!

Got a burning question? Drop it off in the blank text box in the right margin!
