Chapter Sixty-Five: 19 Years Later

On January 20, 2015, I turned 19.
I know that doesn't seem very old, but it's the oldest I've ever been! A lot happened my eighteenth year: prom, a new relationship, graduation, moving away to college, changing my major... It's been quite exciting, that's for sure! I had my fair share of adulthood as well, and I'm sure more adulthood is going to smack me in the face every chance it gets.
Anyway, since I'm here at school, I spent my birthday with my roommates. The night before, my roommates took me out to a local coffee shop and all gathered their spare change to pay for my drink. It was very thoughtful, and we had fun spending quality time together.
On the big day, Mom sent me a big package that was also known as The Party Box. She had packed a bunch of fun toys for my roommates and me to play with. We all had party hats, balloons, noise-makers, bouncy balls...you name it! We even went outside and made giant bubbles. We definitely got some strange looks, but we were having fun and that's what matters.

The Whole Gang (It was a little windy)

Buuuubbbbbbbllllleeeeesssss!!!!

However, we were bogged down that evening with homework. I, unfortunately, could not attend the first Women of Faith of the new semester because of my homework. Despite this, Kelsey, our group leader, came by my dorm in the late evening to drop off a drink and pastry just for me!! She is so kind! This might sound self-centered, but I really do enjoy my birthday. God always surprises me with all the blessings he has placed in my life. Thank you!!

Yum Yum

On Wednesday night, Lubbock began to have some snow fall. My roommates and I could not stop ourselves...so, at 11:30 pm, we played in the freshly fallen snow. There wasn't much, but there was plenty to have fun with. We enjoyed our night out.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

After drinking some hot cocoa, we were off to bed. We awoke to the campus covered in snow! Despite all of Texas Tech's students' prayers, school was not delayed. It was definitely worth walking through though...the school was absolutely beautiful! I truly love my campus!

Wreck 'Em!

Along with the snow, came snow statues. Read about a special one here.
The next day, due to the increasingly warm temperatures, most of the snow melted away. I had nothing to do in the afternoon, so Bailey invited me to go work out with her and a friend. I haven't worked out in awhile (and I've never been to an actual gym), so I was a little afraid of what Bailey had in mind for me. In the end, I hurt a lot, but in a good kind of way. I think I'll be making a lot more trips to the Rec in the future.
On a personal note, school is going great so far. I love all of my classes and am even getting involved in some outside activities. My favorite class so far is Geology, but I am really enjoying my education class! I'll update you as the semester goes on.

What class(es) do you think you'll like this semester?
