Chapter Twenty-One: Day Three

Day Three

We began the day by sleeping in. We ate a small breakfast and talked over our plans. Then, at about 11:00 AM, we began to head out to our final destination. We were all bouncing with excitement and anticipation.

*Screaming*

That's right! Disney World!
It's my graduation gift from my family. Trust me, when I was told where we were headed, I was completely surprised. And excited!! We all know I am really a seven year old, so taking a trip to a place where imagination thrives and, well, "Dreams come True" is a real treat.

Disney World is a huge piece of land with 4 main parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. Today, we went to Hollywood Studios. This is a smaller park mainly about the "behind the scenes" of Disney. The drawings, animations, imagination...

Old sketches of Mickey Mouse!

We learned a lot about how the movie makers make special effects, how Disney stores and creates props, and so on.
We also played a lot! Dad and I rode the Tower of Terror, a ride based on a frightening Twilight Zone episode.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel stands at 199 feet tall.

We also rode - well, more played on - Toy Story's Midway Mania! A 4D game that requires the rider to use their senses to see, aim, and fire! It keeps score for you, too, just like a video game! I got a whooping 106,500. Beat my parents!

I also got a quick glance at Mr. Potato Head, one of the most advanced audio-animatronics out there. (He is the only animatronic that can remove a piece of himself!) I really love complicated things, so Mr. Potato Head was so great to see. (Read more about the imagineering behind Mr. Potato Head here.)

What made this day really special was that it just happened to be Star Wars Weekend, so there were many characters (and people) dressed up and being one with the Force.

The Force is strong with this one.

What better way to end the day other than Fireworks? The fireworks were right above the big Sorcerer hat, accompanying the symphonic music from Star Wars. Absolutely stunning.

All in all, it was a great first day!
