Chapter Twenty-Two: Day Four
Day Four
We woke up early today to
A.) get to the park sooner and
B.) we had a shuttle to catch at 8:00.
So, today, I wore a Minnie Mouse inspired outfit. Black cami and black, flowy skirt with a cute red and white polka-dot over shirt. (The Minnie ears were added later on - thanks, Dad!)
Today we visited EPCOT. (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), which is split into two lands: Future World and The World Showcase. Future World is all about showing the public the progress we have made as a whole, and the future progress planned in space travel, healthcare, education, and so forth. As a science-lover (and a Disney lover) this was pretty cool. I am not sure how I feel about all the advancements and "progress" the human race wants to step into, but we won't know what happens until, well, it happens.
The other half of EPCOT is The World Showcase. This is where Disney shows the beauty of the world's cultures of the past and present. It's a beautiful arrangement where various countries such as Germany, China, Morocco, and many other countries are scattered around the small lagoon in southern EPCOT.
Beautiful lagoon with floating flower pots. Across the water is a beautiful garden in the shape of a butterflies and flowers.
We rode various rides such as Mission: SPACE (Traveling to Mars simulator...where each individual is cast as a certain vital team member like Engineer, Commander, etc.), Test Track Presented by Chevrolet (Design your own car and test it out on the track), Universe of Energy featuring Ellen Degeneres and Bill Nye (Old round-a-bout theater focusing on energy), etc etc.
The vehicle our family created...placed first in how much it impacted the environment!
The World Showcase is more walking and seeing than riding and experiencing. However, this part of the park is very, very beautiful.
Germany in the distance.
At the end of the day, the park does a show featuring fireworks in the sky and a fountain show in the water. I was a little disappointed because my parents and I couldn't really find a good seat, and we're short, so it's hard to see anything when people stand in front of us. We walked away to spend our time elsewhere, but the BOOM of the first firework perked my ears up. I turned around, and found myself a fantastic view.
God continues to show me that He's got my back. :)
Anyway, today was yet again a wonderful day. Thank you so much for reading!
